Why do Americans think that everyone can speak English?

The basic notion that English is a language that should be learned by all is a conception that is not at all true. The very fact that one can learn the language to communicate anywhere is surely an advantage that must be looked up to. But the basic view of some of the Americans is that everyone can speak English. This is so because of the superiority complex that they hold in their mind. Although western culture situates the concern for learning English and makes it a mandatory language to be exercised and used, the education system also stresses this fact and prioritizes it from all aspects. This is so because of the upbringing that has been given to them that they feel that the whole world is able to speak the language perfectly.

Why can’t everyone speak English?

English is considered to be a common language that is learned for better communication with the rest of the people. But the current education system of various countries does not support this notion. Either the poor economy stands as a hindrance in the oath of learning English or the people are unaware of all the rules of language. The Americans are not aware of this fact and that is why they have already formed their own opinion of the problem. A solution to master the English language has been taken by various countries to promote better understanding and communication with the people of other countries as well.
